ALPA’s Opportunities Expo
The Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation’s (ALPA’s) second annual Opportunities Expo took place in Ramingining on Friday 26 May. Staff from Miwatj Health’s Recruitment Team joined our Ramingining Public Health staff to promote new opportunities and talk all things Miwatj djäma (jobs) with the community.
A Great Setting for Recruitment
The turnout at this year’s Opportunities Expo was impressive, both in terms of stall holders and community members. Now in its second year, the ALPA Opportunities Expo has gained traction, with eight other organisations attending alongside Miwatj Health. Community members were able to talk to a range of representatives about work in Ramingining and further afield, elsewhere in the Top End. It was a great initiative with numerous benefits.
During the Expo, Miwatj Health received four job applications and spoke to many others about the opportunities currently on offer at our Ramingining Clinic. First Nations TV interviewed Public Health worker and Clinic Driver, Sylvia, about her experiences working with us, and why events like the Opportunities Expo are so beneficial.
